Officer Nicholas Strauch was involved in the November 2019 arrest of Lee McLaurin, where Strauch was captured on surveillance video repeatedly punching McLaurin in the head and face while he was restrained by other officers. This incident led to a federal lawsuit alleging excessive force. The lawsuit claims that McLaurin suffered panic attacks, night terrors, difficulty sleeping, flashbacks, depression, and anxiety as a result of the police conduct during the arrest.
