In the Davis v. City of Leesburg case, Officer Alaniz was involved in the arrest and subsequent handling of Ms. Davis. The plaintiff alleged that while she was in handcuffs and leg restraints, Officer Alaniz, along with Deputy Sylvester, engaged in excessive force by smashing her face into the floor of the booking room, breaking three of her teeth, and keeping her head down on the floor for almost two minutes. The court documents discuss the use of force and the events that transpired during Ms. Davis’ detention.
