In July 2006, Officer Ball was involved in the arrest of an individual who alleged excessive force during a DUI stop. The plaintiff claimed that Ball acted in an intimidating manner, warning him about his martial arts skills, and used a martial arts move to twist his arm, causing extreme pain. The plaintiff also alleged that Ball applied handcuffs too tightly, resulting in injuries. However, the court granted summary judgment in favor of Officer Ball, finding no violation of the plaintiff’s constitutional rights.
