In 2017, Officer Eric Faulkner was involved in a lawsuit alleging excessive force during an arrest. The plaintiff, Craig Mally, claimed that Faulkner applied handcuffs too tightly, causing injury. The case, Mally v. City of Beaverton, was reviewed in 2018, and the court found genuine disputes of material fact regarding the cause and extent of the plaintiff’s injuries, leading to the denial of the plaintiff’s motion for partial summary judgment.
