In September 2019, Officer Gellinas conducted a traffic stop based on the alleged smell of marijuana. During the stop, a female passenger was subjected to multiple searches, including a strip search under threat of a cavity search. The invasive nature of the search, which yielded no contraband, led to a lawsuit alleging violations of constitutional rights.
