In August 2023, Officer Hali Bradford was involved in a shootout during a domestic violence response, which resulted in the death of a 19-month-old child, Kaci Cyprian. The child’s parents filed a lawsuit alleging that the officers, including Bradford, used excessive force and failed to de-escalate the situation. The lawsuit is ongoing, and the family has been unable to obtain body camera footage or the autopsy report due to the pending criminal case against the alleged shooter.
