In 2007, Officer Hudson was named in a lawsuit by inmate Anthony Richards, who alleged that Hudson failed to protect him from injury during an incident at the Coffee County Jail. Richards claimed that Hudson’s actions constituted deliberate indifference to his safety. The case, Richards v. Coffee County Sheriff Department, was filed in 2007 and is ongoing.
