In May 2011, Officer Jones arrested Ms. Carver based on a warrant for the illegal purchase of pseudoephedrine. Ms. Carver alleged false arrest and excessive force, claiming the handcuffs were too tight. The court found that Officer Jones acted within the scope of the warrant and that the force used was de minimis, leading to the dismissal of the claims against him.
