In July 2020, Officer Jason Rosenblatt was fired for his reaction to photos that mocked the death of Elijah McClain, a Black man who died after being stopped by police in August 2019. Rosenblatt received a photo depicting fellow officers reenacting the chokehold used on McClain and responded with ‘Haha.’ He filed a lawsuit claiming he was denied a review hearing prior to his termination.
