In January 2011, Officer Servo was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing an unmarked police car while off-duty. He pleaded guilty and entered a diversion program. Diagnosed with alcoholism, he was subsequently fired. In April 2013, Servo filed a $6 million lawsuit against the city, alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and due process.
