In June 2019, Officer Jay Bloyer was involved in the arrest of Jayson William Valery Paske following a traffic stop. Paske alleged that Bloyer and another officer used excessive force, resulting in multiple facial fractures and hospitalization. Paske filed a civil suit seeking $1.5 million in damages. The officers denied the allegations, stating that Paske was aggressively resisting arrest. The case was settled out of court for $90,000 in October 2020, with no admission of wrongdoing by the officers.
