In September 2018, Officer Joseph Corrow allegedly used excessive force by grabbing Mabior Jok and slamming him to the ground, knocking him unconscious. The city settled the lawsuit for $215,000 in August 2024, with the city’s insurer paying $140,000 and the city contributing $75,000. An internal investigation at the time suggested no excessive force was used by Corrow.
