In January 2012, Officer LaManna allegedly entered a woman’s home without permission while on duty and raped her. The victim claimed that LaManna obtained her address from an incident report where she had been a victim the previous day. Following the incident, the victim obtained an injunction against harassment against LaManna. He subsequently retired to avoid being fired and relocated. The victim filed a lawsuit seeking compensatory and punitive damages for civil rights violations.
