In June 2019, Officer Kevin Cory participated in the arrest of Jayson William Valery Paske during a traffic stop. Paske claimed that Cory and another officer used excessive force, causing significant injuries. A civil lawsuit was filed, and the officers contested the claims, asserting that Paske resisted arrest. The lawsuit was settled out of court for $90,000 in October 2020, with no admission of liability by the officers.
