In August 2011, Officer Klaetsch, along with his wife Melissa and former Conecuh County correctional officer Alicia Brown, was involved in an incident where they choked and restrained Crystal Skinner Coleman for over two hours at the county jail. During this time, Melissa TASERed Coleman while she was restrained in a chair. Surveillance footage showed Klaetsch smiling and laughing after the incident. He was subsequently fired from the department due to this misconduct.
