In August 2022, Officer Knox was involved in an incident where he allegedly used excessive force during a traffic stop. The plaintiff claims that Knox grabbed him by his dreadlocks, forcibly removed him from the vehicle, and participated in a physical assault that included slamming him to the ground and punching and kicking him. The plaintiff was charged with Fleeing/Eluding Arrest and Resisting a Public Officer, but these charges were later dismissed. A lawsuit was filed alleging violations of the Fourth Amendment, including unlawful stop, excessive force, unlawful arrest, and malicious prosecution.
