    In 2004, Officer Morris was stationed near the Masonic Temple during a party where a fatal shooting occurred. A lawsuit alleged that she failed to exercise reasonable care to control the conduct of third persons, leading to the death of Darnel Patrick Merritt. The court ultimately granted the defendants’ motion to strike the negligence claims, citing governmental immunity.
