In November 2018, Officer Jerrett was involved in the arrest of Mark Colyer, during which excessive force was alleged. Colyer claimed that after surrendering, Officer Jerrett released a K9 that bit him, and that Jerrett kicked him multiple times in the face. A lawsuit was filed, and in March 2023, the court denied summary judgment for Jerrett, allowing the excessive force claim to proceed to trial.
