In December 2013, Officer Daguanno responded to a noise complaint and allegedly entered Dennis Szafir’s apartment without permission. He instructed Szafir to spread his legs before taking them out from under him, causing Szafir to fall and suffer a concussion, bruising, and back injuries. Szafir filed a federal lawsuit against the town and several officers, seeking damages exceeding $10,000. The town’s attorney stated that the defendants weren’t responsible for Szafir’s injuries.
