In 2019, Officer Matthew Singleton was named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Hafida Osborn, alleging violations of her constitutional rights under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. The lawsuit included claims of abuse of process, intentional infliction of emotional distress, slander, and property damage. The case was removed to federal court on September 27, 2019, and various motions to dismiss and for summary judgment were filed by the defendants.
