In February 2009, Officer Welz was involved in an incident where he took a golf ball from another player’s game without permission and later lied about it. During the internal investigation, he made inappropriate comments, including suggesting he should ‘put a bullet’ in his supervisor. The investigation concluded that Welz’s actions demonstrated unprofessional conduct and a lack of responsibility. As a result, he was dismissed from the Lake Havasu City Police Department.
