Officer Mills was accused of making racially charged and inappropriate comments towards Officer Robinson, including mocking his sick dog and making a derogatory remark implying bestiality. Robinson perceived these comments as having racial overtones. These allegations were included in the 2017 lawsuit that resulted in a $1.4 million settlement in 2021.
