Officer Mitch Wright, named Shoreline’s Officer of the Year in 2006, was assigned to the DEA task force in 2010. In 2013, Wright was found to be in a relationship with a police informant and had drugs in his apartment that should have been booked as evidence. He resigned in July 2013 ahead of termination. In February 2014, Wright was arrested for conspiracy and narcotics distribution after an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
