On April 27, 2009, Officer Palmer was responsible for overseeing the care of an inmate exhibiting severe symptoms of methamphetamine intoxication. The inmate’s condition worsened over several hours, and medical assistance was not promptly sought. The inmate was eventually transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead on April 28, 2009. A lawsuit was filed alleging that the officers’ failure to provide timely medical care resulted in the inmate’s death.
