Create And Track Police Department History

In April 2005, Officer Patrick Maczko was involved in the arrest of Reynaldo Lopez, a disabled individual. Maczko pulled Lopez over for driving without a valid license. During the arrest, Lopez allegedly struck Maczko, leading to a physical altercation. Maczko, along with Officer James Freed, handcuffed Lopez and transported him to the patrol car. Witnesses reported that Lopez was dragged across the pavement and ‘tossed’ into the patrol car, raising concerns about excessive force. The incident led to internal discussions within the department regarding the appropriateness of the force used during the arrest.
