In August 2020, Officer Beck allegedly racially profiled and wrongfully arrested Anaysheon Coffey at her residence. Coffey claimed Beck entered her home without a warrant and conducted an illegal search before arresting her. In March 2021, Beck was placed on leave following multiple complaints from residents about his conduct, including allegations of targeting African Americans during traffic stops. He resigned in April 2021. Coffey filed a federal lawsuit against Beck, the city, and the police department in March 2023, seeking damages for the alleged violations of her constitutional rights.
