In 2010, Officer Desisto was accused of providing false testimony during a criminal trial involving a willful trespass charge against a civilian. The plaintiff alleged that Desisto testified to giving a verbal no-trespass warning on October 16, 2009, at the direction of the center’s administrator. However, an affidavit from the administrator contradicted this testimony, stating no such request was made on that date. Additionally, the plaintiff claimed that Desisto and other department members altered police reports concerning her visits to the center. These allegations were part of a civil lawsuit filed against the Coventry Police Department, which was ultimately dismissed in 2017.
