In July 2014, Officer Schrader was involved in the wrongful arrest of Adam Horstman, who was mistakenly identified as a suspect in a series of pharmacy robberies. Horstman was held in jail for six days until police arrested another suspect. The city of Hillsboro settled the resulting lawsuit for $550,000 in October 2018.
