In 2021, Officer Wilson placed a paraplegic detainee in a non-wheelchair-accessible room, requiring the detainee to sleep on a mattress atop a desk. The detainee fell and sustained injuries. Wilson allegedly ignored the detainee’s pleas for medical attention. A lawsuit was filed against Wilson for negligence and ADA violations. The court dismissed the federal claims but remanded the negligence claim to state court, indicating potential misconduct.
