Chief Deputy Patricia Fritz was convicted of summary harassment in October 2018 after a physical altercation with Deputy Cpl. Steve Felder on August 7, 2018. She allegedly pushed and poked Felder during a heated discussion, leading to her suspension and subsequent termination. Additionally, Fritz faced allegations of racial discrimination from multiple individuals, including claims that she opposed hiring a Black woman due to previous negative experiences. She was also accused of bias against military reservists, reportedly stating, ‘We just can’t make them full time. They take too much time off.’ These incidents resulted in multiple lawsuits and investigations into her conduct.
