On May 14, 2017, Sergeant Patrick Cunningham was involved in an incident where he used a taser on Jennifer Brennan during an arrest. Brennan alleged excessive force, claiming she was tased while lying face down and not resisting. The case, Brennan v. The court denied Cunningham’s motions for judgment as a matter of law and for a new trial, upholding the jury’s verdict.
