In November 2023, Officer Paul Hartmann, a 17-year veteran, admitted to stealing $830 from a suspect’s car during a drug arrest. After the suspect requested the money’s return, Hartmann initially denied knowledge but later returned the funds. He pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office, was sentenced to 18 months of probation, and resigned from the department the following day.
