In August 2023, Public Information Officer Rick Goodale was terminated for failing to obey directions from a supervisor and for violating the city’s social media policy. This followed allegations that he used the police department’s Facebook page to harass Joshua Rohrer, a disabled veteran who had been arrested in October 2021. Rohrer filed a federal lawsuit against the city, naming Goodale as a defendant.
