Retired Captain Raymond Hitchcock was cited for misdemeanor theft in March 2019 after taking a county-purchased Glock 43 firearm upon his retirement in June 2017 without authorization or reimbursement. Following an interview with a Division of Criminal Investigation agent, Hitchcock returned the firearm. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which carries a fine of up to $500.
