    In March 2018, Deputy Rian Alden assaulted detainee Albert Molina during booking, resulting in a fractured skull. Initially, no charges were filed, but in June 2020, following public outcry and the release of surveillance footage, Alden was indicted on multiple felony charges, including second-degree assault. The county settled a lawsuit with Molina for $625,000.
