In 2020, Officer Rodney Vicknair sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl he met while responding to her initial rape report. He pleaded guilty to violating her civil rights and was sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2023. Vicknair died in prison in January 2024 after serving less than six months.
