In 2012, Roger Reece Spady, a deputy at the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office, was accused of multiple incidents of rape and assault over a period of time at the Prowers County jail. A lawsuit was filed against him and the Sheriff’s Office, alleging that officials were aware of Spady’s history or propensity for such misconduct.
