In October 2022, former Deputy Ron Brown was charged with four misdemeanors, including three counts of first-degree official misconduct and one count of unlawful dissemination of an intimate image. Allegations included transferring intimate photos from a deceased man’s phone to his own and engaging in inappropriate conduct with the man’s girlfriend. Brown retired during the internal investigation and is no longer associated with the sheriff’s office.
