On August 23, 2020, Officer Rusten Sheskey shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back during an attempted arrest, resulting in Blake’s paralysis. The incident sparked national protests. In March 2021, Blake filed a federal lawsuit against Sheskey, alleging excessive force and constitutional violations. In January 2021, the Kenosha County District Attorney announced that no charges would be filed against Sheskey.”
