In September 2020, Officer Ryan Donohue was charged with three misdemeanor offenses related to a domestic violence incident that occurred while he was off-duty in Westerly, Rhode Island. Following the charges, Donohue was placed on paid suspension pending the outcome of the investigation. He had been serving with the Richmond Police Department since 2014 and was previously regarded as an exemplary officer. The case was under investigation as of the last available report.
