Officer Ryan Stone resigned in December 2020 following allegations of excessive use of force and a whistleblower lawsuit. He claimed the department retaliated against him for reporting misconduct among colleagues. The city settled the lawsuit by paying Stone $172,186.13 and providing a year of free family medical, dental, and vision insurance. His attorneys received $77,813.87.
