In June 2024, former Lt. Ryan Terrell was demoted to Master Patrol Officer and placed on six months of probation after admitting to using city-owned security cameras to monitor his wife, whom he suspected of infidelity. Terrell accessed the Verkada security system on multiple occasions to track his wife’s activities, including observing her in a Target parking lot. His access to the system was revoked, and he was transferred to the Patrol Division.
