In October 2022, Deputy Sheriff Samir Ahmad was arrested in a federal sting operation for selling firearms and ammunition to a confidential informant who was unlawfully in the United States. Ahmad was terminated from the Sheriff’s Office and charged with firearms trafficking. The investigation revealed that some of the trafficked weapons were linked to a deadly school shooting in Roxborough. The case is part of a broader federal investigation into corruption within the Sheriff’s Office.
