    In January 2016, Officer Scott Hill obtained an arrest warrant for Willie Ray McDonald based on a DNA match from blood found at a burglary scene. However, Hill failed to inform the magistrate of exculpatory evidence, including that the suspect was described as a white male, while McDonald is African American. This omission led to McDonald’s wrongful arrest and detention. Hill’s actions were later scrutinized in a lawsuit alleging false arrest and malicious prosecution.
