In 2005, Officer Scott Miller took paid sick leave from the NLRPD due to a knee injury but worked at the Little Rock K-9 Academy during this period without obtaining prior approval for off-duty employment, as required by department policy. Additionally, he falsely indicated on a sick leave report that he had not engaged in off-duty employment. An internal investigation confirmed these violations, resulting in a three-day suspension for Miller.
