Officer Sean Rollins was terminated in February 2021 for unsatisfactory performance after an internal review revealed he used force on suspects at a rate significantly higher than the department average. Incidents included a controversial shooting in 2019 where he shot Sir Brandon Legette in the back of the head during a traffic stop, leading to a federal lawsuit against the department. Additionally, Rollins was involved in multiple use-of-force cases over a five-month span, including firing bean-bag rounds at protesters in May 2020. Despite initial internal reviews clearing him, further scrutiny led to his dismissal.
