Create And Track Police Department History

In 2002, Sergeant Brelsford was involved in an incident where he instructed officers to alter their reports regarding the boarding of a vessel. The original reports indicated that the boarding was in response to a call for help, but Brelsford directed them to change it to reflect a boating violation as the reason. This directive was in violation of General Orders and raised concerns about the integrity of the reports. Additionally, the supervision during the incident was found to be grossly deficient, with no proper checks conducted on the individuals involved, such as sobriety tests or background checks. These actions were in direct violation of departmental procedures and highlighted significant supervisory failures.
