Sergeant David Peterson was involved in a 2011 search warrant execution that led to a lawsuit alleging excessive force and constitutional violations. During the operation, Peterson entered a room where a woman was filing paint off a bicycle, pointed his gun at her, ordered her to the ground, and escorted her to the living room. The lawsuit claimed that the officers’ actions during the search were unlawful and violated the residents’ rights.
