On January 9, 2021, Sergeant Johnson was involved in the arrest of an individual who had called 9-1-1 stating he was suicidal and had a loaded firearm. During the arrest, the individual alleged that Sergeant Johnson and other officers used excessive force, resulting in a fractured knee. The individual filed a lawsuit against Sergeant Johnson and other officers involved. The court granted summary judgment in favor of the officers, dismissing the case with prejudice.
