In 2010, Sgt. David Schauwecker was investigated for viewing pornography on his work computer and removing a pornographic video from the police evidence locker. The investigation revealed that he had taken personal possession of pornographic materials obtained by the police department as evidence in pending criminal investigations. The Board of Civil Authority unanimously found that his conduct constituted just cause for termination, and he was subsequently fired from the department.
